The endless glow of screens 💻✨ had become my constant companion.
The endless glow of screens had become my constant companion. From working remotely on my laptop to unwinding with a streaming service on my tablet, my eyes were perpetually glued to a digital display. By mid-2024, I started noticing it – a subtle but persistent eye strain, a creeping headache at the end of the day, and sometimes, even disrupted sleep. I’d heard about blue light blocking glasses, but always dismissed them as a bit of a gimmick. However, as the discomfort mounted, the idea started to gain traction. I was tired of feeling like my eyes were constantly tired, and the thought of finding a simple solution that didn't involve more screen breaks (let's be real, that wasn't happening) was incredibly appealing. I longed for that sense of relief, a way to make my digital life a little less taxing on my physical well-being. Was it possible to lessen the digital eye fatigue I was experiencing? That was my core motivation, a common refrain I'd seen in countless online forums and discussions.
My journey to finding the perfect pair began online, as most things do for me. I browsed through several e-commerce sites, comparing styles, prices, and—crucially—customer reviews. I admit, the sheer volume of options was a bit overwhelming. I looked at various brands, considering everything from high-end options to more budget-friendly choices. What ultimately drew me to Cinily Eyewear was their selection of stylish yet affordable frames, specifically their Cinily Square Anti-Blue Light Glasses. The clean, unisex square design caught my eye immediately – it felt modern without being overly trendy, perfect for my everyday look. The ordering process itself was straightforward; the website was easy to navigate, allowing me to select the non-prescription blue light option without any fuss. I added them to my cart, completed the checkout with minimal friction, and then settled into the familiar waiting game. There's always a mix of anticipation and a touch of impatience when you're waiting for something you genuinely hope will improve your daily life.
When my package from Cinily Eyewear finally arrived in late 2024, I tore into it with a small thrill of anticipation. The packaging itself was simple but effective – a sturdy box protected the glasses, nestled securely in a soft case with a cleaning cloth. No frills, but everything felt safe and accounted for. The first thing I noticed when I pulled out the Cinily Square Anti-Blue Light Glasses was their surprising lightness. I had expected them to feel a bit clunky or heavy given the robust frame design, but they were remarkably airy. The matte black finish of the frames was sleek and felt surprisingly premium for the price point. They certainly looked as good, if not better, than the product photos online. Slipping them on for the first time, the fit was comfortable right away – no pinching, no slipping, just a snug, secure feeling. My initial impression was definitely positive; they didn't just look good, they felt good too.
Now, for the core experience: wearing the Cinily Square Anti-Blue Light Glasses during my marathon screen sessions. The most immediate and noticeable benefit was the reduction in glare and the subtle warmth they added to my screen’s display. That harsh, blueish tinge seemed to soften, and while it took a few minutes to adjust to the slightly yellowed tint, it quickly became unnoticeable. I found myself reaching for them instinctively every time I sat down at my computer, and within a week, those nagging end-of-day headaches and tired eyes had significantly diminished. It wasn't a miracle cure, but the improvement was palpable. The frames are surprisingly durable for their lightness, having survived a few accidental drops off my desk. However, I must admit, when it comes to more complex orders like prescription lenses, the experience might differ significantly. I recently came across a disheartening review that highlighted potential issues with Cinily Eyewear’s (or rather, the previous iteration of the store's) handling of prescription orders and customer service, which gives me pause. Here's what Roberta Ebron shared in her detailed account:
"Let's begin with terrible customer service. Next let's touch on the '110% store credit' that they offer you if THEY mess up your prescription, sounded to good to be true, and it is. You see, if you take that credit, and they send you blurry glasses again, you are OUT of you money, forever. Oh, it gets better. They then have you send that pair back and you order again, only to have that pair come BLURRY too…You think that's all, nope, you return those (you know before 14 days) and order you THIRD pair, only to have to NOW pay more money and you get that new pair in the mail and what? YEP blurry. So you are now out about $200, and you have glasses that you cannot wear, so what do you do? Take those frames (because the glass inside isn't even prescription) to Walmart and pay another $200 for a pair of prescription glasses to be placed in your frames. No Worries, they messaged me on facebook when I placed comments on their ads. Here is what they said: Cinily Eyewear Typically replies within an hour Sunglasses & Eyewear Store 1:08 PM Cinily Eyewear sent Today at 1:08 PM Hi Roberta, I'm messaging you in regards to your comment. I sincerely apologize for the trouble. No worries, I'm here to help. May I please have the order number so I can look into it? You sent Today at 1:18 PM Unless you are giving me a full refund you cannot help me. I had to take my Glasses to Walmart and pay another 200 to get the correct prescription in. They explained the prescription wasn’t correct. Said there wasn’t even any likeness to what it should have 6:37 PM Cinily Eyewear sent Today at 6:37 PM I'm sorry to hear about what happened. You've mentioned that you received the glasses with the wrong prescription? Can you provide me the correct order number that you're referring to the glasses you received as the wrong prescription so I can look into it? You sent Today at 7:39 PM all of them….every pair you sent me had the wrong prescription. I mean they were all blurry, I'm not a rocket scientist, but I'd say that means wrong prescription for all. Cinily Eyewear sent Today at 8:08 PM I'm sorry to hear that. Based on the order numbers you provided, we cannot process a refund as they are ordered using a store credit * edited to add here that I PAID for them, then returned for the credit. Please note that store credit is not refundable here is the catch, this isn't mentioned when you are trying to return your first pair of glasses, it just pops up and says instead of getting a refund we can offer you 110% store credit**. Each item may be returned a single time, **regardless of if THEY did not make the glasses correctly*** within 14 days after its delivery for a 100% refund, store credit, or an equal-value exchange. The next return with respect to the same item will only be eligible for store credit or equal-value exchange. Every item originating from the same order may be returned up to 2 times in total. *REGARDLESS of it the issue is on them*. Please for those of us who work hard for our money, go elsewhere! AND I DIDN'T even want to give them 1 star!"
Roberta's experience with prescription issues and the store credit policy is truly concerning, and it highlights a critical area for improvement, especially for a company dealing with such essential items as prescription eyewear. While my own experience with non-prescription blue light glasses has been overwhelmingly positive, her detailed account of receiving multiple blurry pairs and the frustrating return policy (store credit being non-refundable and subsequent returns only eligible for credit/exchange) is a significant warning for anyone considering ordering prescription lenses. It seems the store's policy, as she described it, can lead to customers being stuck with unusable products and out of pocket. It underscores that while the frames and basic blue light blocking might be excellent, the complexity of prescription fulfillment and subsequent customer support needs serious attention.
Overall, my experience with the Cinily Square Anti-Blue Light Glasses has been largely positive. For those seeking non-prescription blue light blocking glasses to alleviate digital eye strain, I would cautiously recommend them. The frames are stylish, comfortable, and the blue light filtering genuinely made a difference in my daily life in late 2024 and early 2025. They were certainly "worth the money" for me. However, for anyone considering prescription lenses from Cinily Eyewear, I would advise extreme caution and encourage you to thoroughly research recent reviews concerning prescription accuracy and customer service, keeping in mind the significant issues highlighted by Roberta’s experience. It’s clear that while the physical product itself can be great, the support and guarantee around prescription accuracy need to be seriously scrutinized.
